This collection of poems spans the ages from the timeless sagas of the ancient gods to the modern commuter train – it spans the human heart from the beginnings of love to the depths of grief. Diotima, author of Refuge: Tales of Myth and Magick, and Banish with Laughter: Essays of Myth and Magick, opens her notebooks to share her poetic musings, her songs of triumph and despair, her life and loves.
Dancing god
Dancing god
Laughing god
You who make armies flee
Goat footed god
Hermes’ son
Will you dance with me?
Within the city scape you find me
No daughter of the land
The daily grind entwines and binds me
Will you offer me your hand?
Even in the city streets
There’s wilderness to find
Among the stone and marble seats
Of learning and of mind
For Arcadia’s a state of mind
As well as forest dim
If I look for you, will I find
You dancing, there, within....?
Dancing god
Laughing god
Terror brought at noon
Laughing god
Dangerous god
Will you dance with me …. soon?

From Lupa's review of Dancing God:
Having been assaulted with bad verse and worse attempts, Dancing God is a reminder that we still have muse-touched poets today, those who create beauty through carefully structured words. There’s magic in these pages, and Diotima is an accomplished magician when it comes to evoking the feelings she wishes to convey.
